The dining terrace at Ormond Esplanade, an oval marble table set below a rendered outdoor fireplace under a canopy of ornamental grape

Ormond Esplanade.

A rendered house given over almost entirely to climbers. Boston ivy and ornamental grape run across the parapets, down the loggia columns and out over the dining terrace until the architecture only half shows. Underneath, the geometry is held tight: clipped box and westringia in balls, dichondra seaming the paving, pleached trees against the boundary. Wrought iron gates open onto a strip of lawn, and past them the garden turns to a pool court with an arched shower lined in glazed blue tile.
